Fix the source before decorating
Let the ceiling or wall dry before painting.
Keep useful paperwork
A note describing the repaired area is more useful than an invoice saying only 'roof work'.
Do not replace sound material simply for appearance
A different-coloured slate can still be perfectly serviceable.
